ESP and ESL both are helping to students to learn english in a better way and they can improve there english as well. and my point of view is that ESP is more helpful to the students to learn english with the help of several activities so that they can able to learn englis in better way as well as with more interest.
with the help of various activities we can teach them english so that if they particiapte in activities so that they can improve with the experiance as well they can expose their inner abilities and for that teachers have to design the activities accordingly.
To explor the students ability to communicate and making them aware in the classroom teacher have to create that type of atmosphere so that they can communicate with others and share there views with the others and in classroom. and with the help of this students get confident and motivate as well.
if any student have face any type of problem in learning english so its teacher responsibility to solve that problem and give them proper solution of that problem.
If student have interest in learning ESP so it is more benificial for him/her because this field is the field which gives tehm several oppoertunities. ESp is use for any kind of field and help to the people to learn english in a better way.and it is important for the students who done this course that they shoud aware of it that this course what all is about.

  13. SUMMARY 1

How is English for Specific Purposes (ESP) different from English as a Second Language (ESL), also known as general English?

The foremost difference as to how ESP is leading ahead than ESL is that ESP students are usually adults who have some acquaintance with English and are learning the language in order to communicate a set of professional skills and to perform particular job-related functions. An ESP program is needful of purposes and the functions for which English is required .ESP concentrates more on language and is not taught as a subject separated from the students' real world instead, it is integrated into a subject matter area important to the learners. In fact, as a general rule, while in ESL all four language skills; listening, reading, speaking, and writing, are enunciated. An ESP program, might, for example, emphasize the development of reading skills in students who are preparing for graduate work in business administration. A teacher who has prior experience in teaching (ESL), may exploit her students with her knowledge in language teaching. A good communication skill and mediation by the teacher can create a good atmosphere in the classroom. For the teacher time will be limited, she needs to introduce communication skills or interaction session that will create a good understanding between the teacher and the learner. The role of the teacher is compared to a source of information to the students and the role of a learner is to develop English language skills to reflect their native-language .In ESP, English should be presented not as a subject to be learned in isolation from real use, nor as a mechanical skill or habit to be developed. Rather, English should be presented in authentic contexts making the learners acquaint with the language that they will need to perform in their fields of specialty or jobs. The Learners in the ESP classes should have the Knowledge of the subject matter which enables the students to identify a real context .Adult learners who are learning the new language behaviour in their native languages should expand their vocabulary which will help them to improve their fluency and linguistic behaviour in their near future. ESP students can commercialize these inborn competencies in learning English.

  14. General English and English for Specific Purpose
    Summary: 2
In today, Language knowledge is very important. The development of language skills aims at active expansion of student’s proficiency in English. Such texts should usually be focused on the communicative needs of the students of a certain higher school. Teaching and learning ESP includes much more than the teaching of English through specific material and content. Teaching ESP combines development of linguistic skills together with the acquisition of specific information. The knowledge of English facilitates the access to the resources of new information. Student does not think much of the way he is going to use his foreign language knowledge.

We approach to teaching the two types of English: General and the Specific, Both of them develop one’s ability to communicate in any form is oral or written. ESP concentrates not only on the recognition of particular structures of sentences or word combinations but also on the choice of terms and meanings of words in different kinds of texts. The specific needs of the subject content may not require grammar or phonetics but the letters are always integrated into the process of teaching as they make an important part of the conveyance of the meaning both of the entire utterance and of its separate parts. The student uses a specific language which is the general language with additional spices inherent to a professional language.
ESP always rests on the knowledge of general English. The latter is more devoted to learning grammar structures and general vocabulary. The first one aims at consolidating grammar, pronunciation and other skills and at acquisition of a specialized meaning of words in specific professional contexts. Many a student still may feel like being at school. Thus, they wait for the teacher’s instructions. Such students must learn how to learn language independently, that is how to study the language by oneself and become an independent learner. The language teacher should encourage the student to attend the classes and be active during them. Such activity is profitable as it makes him think and share his ideas expressing them in English. Only speaking he learns the language. The teacher must always stress “the need to develop “speakers” sense as communicators at a global level by adding an extra dimension to our communicative competence”.
Student’s activities developing his cognitive and social experience as well as his understanding of his own needs and preferences. Being a learning process it encourages him to seek and find ways how to connect what is in the book to what is in his mind. Thus his creative thinking is being developed. ESP is related to professional training it also gives a lot of information on everyday life. Education is always included in the curriculum of each school be it comprehensive or specialized secondary or higher. It means that education is a part of teaching which contributes to the quality of the result .it builds human personality making him an important member of the community. It is important to train a competitive, productive individual.
Thus, the aim of teaching ESP is to develop both linguistic and professional skills and abilities as well as knowledge and competence.
